Each of them grants Kratos different abilities in combat, but they can also be useful outside of combat to traverse the perilous lands of Mount Olympus. God of War 3 also features magic that can be accessed by Kratos. The use of different magical abilities is tied to certain weapons, and only by combining them will Kratos be able to succeed.
God of War 3 is a worthy successor and brings the culmination of the Greek arc in Kratos' storyline.
