Velvet Crowe used to be a kind-hearted person. But after a certain event three years ago, she’s become bitter and consumed with hatred. As the sixteenth main entry in the Tales series, Tales of Berseria offers players a sophisticated anime RPG with an engaging story and moving characters. The game’s protagonist, Velvet, was designed by the esteemed illustrator, animator, and character designer Mutsumi Inomata, whose work has been featured throughout the Tales series. Take control of Velvet, as she joins up with pirates to explore the Holy Midgand Empire. A strong ally of the Holy Midgand Empire, the Abbey, seeks to eradicate those who have contracted the disease known as Daemonblight. This disease causes people to lose all sense of rationality and humanity, becoming Daemons. But Velvet, who became a demon, seeks to stop the Abbey from going too far with their purge. Defeat enemies to acquire their Souls, which eventually fills up your Soul Gauge. Then, use these Souls to unleash powerful Artes in battle. Switch between characters in the heat of battle, using mechanics that keep this tactical RPG’s game play fast-paced and action-filled. With a star-studded voice over cast, a protagonist designed by Inomata, and cut scenes animated by the famous Japanese studio ufotable, Tales of Berseria provides players with an immersive and highly-developed RPG experience. The highly-respected composer, Motoi Sakuraba, also returns to create the game’s enchanting score. Produced by Bandai Namco Studios, Tales of Berseria features an enthralling world for players to experience, through the vengeful adventures of Velvet Crowe.
