The makers of Duke Nukem 3D and Max Payne return with Ion Fury, a classic-style FPS where you leave a trail of utter destruction in your wake. In the far future, evil scientist Dr. Jadus Heskel has unleashed an army of cyborgs on the city of Neo DC. It’s up to you, demolitions expert Shelley “Bombshell” Harrison, to end his plans of world domination—with all the bombs and bullets you can get her hands on.
The game features mechanics from classic shooter games, including guns with primary and alternate fire and increased damage from headshots. You can run, duck, climb, and swim through various hand-designed levels with intricate action set pieces and multiple paths to travel. The game also embraces modern mechanics like auto-saves, controller support, and widescreen view.
Ion Fury shines best with its arsenal of weapons. Bombshell carries her trademark revolver Loverboy, capable of both single precise shots and rapid-fire. Wield the Electrifryer, a combination of nightstick and stun baton. Dual wield the Penetrator submachine guns that shoot incendiary rounds. Finally, throw Bowling Bombs, explosives with the ability to home in on an enemy. With weapons like these, not even an army of cyborgs can stand in your way.
