Bravely Default 2 is a sequel to the most popular JRPS released for Nintendo 3DS. Inspired by Octopath Traveler, the game maintains the aesthetics and gameplay of its predecessors but offers to the players a new story completely unrelated to the previous installments in the series. The continent of Excillent is divided into five kingdoms. The sailor Seth has miraculously survived to a shipwreck and his body is washed ashore to the coast of one of those kingdoms. He is found by Gloria, who is the princess of a destroyed kingdom, and together with her and two other friends, they will start a journey to find powerful elemental crystals that, if they were to fall in the wrong hands, they would bring chaos and destruction to the land.
