Speed 3: Grand Prix is an arcade racing game with an accessible driving model and phenomenal gameplay. In the game, you will take part in lots of car races that will take place in different places around the world. The available race tracks vary in the scenery and the technique of passing them. They are most often located in the American wastelands, but also in British villages, in the winding and narrow streets of Tokyo, and on professional tracks in Germany. During the fierce battle for victory on the track, spectacular collisions often occur. Every vehicle participating in the race has a health bar that will decrease with every collision. When it is completely empty the car explodes. Racing cars available in the game resemble licensed open-body Formula 1 cars. You can also unlock a number of other equally detailed cars, such as muscle cars, hot rods, sports cars, and other supercars.

In Speed 3: The Grand Prix you can play solo or on a split screen with a friend. In addition to a career mode which is divided into seasons, there is a mode with single races and a Ghost Mode where the ghosts will be your own previous performances and you will try to beat your own scores.
