Not For Broadcast is set in an alternate version of the 1980s where you take the role of the studio director Alex Winston. You are sitting in the production control room of the National Nightly News. Your predecessor has left the country in the aftermath of a change of government that has drastically changed the life of the citizens. The Advance political party came up victorious in the latest elections, and they have implemented a lot of changes that have turned the country into a bad place to live for many. As a result, the former studio director left the country, and Alex has to do his job. The only problem is that he is the former janitor, and he is completely clueless about his new job.

In Not For Broadcast, you have to manage all the aspects of the production of the most important news program in the country. You are the one in charge of monitoring that everything is in order during the broadcast, choosing the appropriate camera feed, the sound effects, and more. The audience meter will provide feedback on your performance, and you better keep that percentage high unless you want to lose your job.
