Farlanders is a retro-style strategy game that challenges you with the construction of a colony on the Red Planet. The game puts at your disposal a wide range of assets and tools to create the first human colony on Mars. Using turn-based gameplay mechanics, you will start by terraforming the planet as you need to create a suitable placement for your basic buildings. From there, you can think of expanding your colony by adding more buildings, including lodging, water pumps, farms, factories, and more. Your goal is to build a settlement where the settlers can comfortably live and prosper.
Space is limited in Farlanders, so you will need to plan ahead the layout of your base and adapt to the terrain. The terrain is procedurally generated in each game, so the conditions you find will always be different. And if you run out of space on the surface, you can always dig deep and expand your facilities underground. If you manage your resources efficiently and follow a good strategy and you will end up living a happy life in a self-sustained colony. You may even find time to investigate alien artifacts.
Farlanders features pixel-art graphics in 2D and a gameplay style reminiscent of the best classics in the city building genre.
