As the leader of a whole new unit, Sam Fisher faces a terrorist group named The Engineers. These call for the withdrawal of the army troops in the countries where they are present. In order to be heard, they use the Blacklist as leverage. The principle is simple: a countdown is initiated during which several attacks take place. Man for the job, Sam Fisher is placed at the head of the unit Echelon 4. Having established the headquarters aboard a stealth aircraft, Fisher can quickly reach the four corners of the globe. Between each mission, Fisher will have the possibility to change equipment, weapons, and gadgets.
On the ground, the hero will be much more effective through the “Killing in Motion” system, allowing the use of the “Mark and Execute” while moving. This new gameplay will, therefore, leave the player the choice to go in stealth mode or make forceful interventions.
