Assassin's Creed 2 is free on PC

Ubisoft is being quite generous with its games and in the last few weeks, many players have claimed their copies of Child of Light and Rayman Legends for free on Uplay. Now it's the turn of what's probably the most popular franchise created by the French company, Assassin's Creed. Starting tomorrow and for a limited time, Ubisoft will be giving away Assassin's Creed 2 for free on PC. Log in to your Uplay account or just create a new one if you don't have one already and you will be able to claim Assassin's Creed 2 for free. Once you do it, it will be yours permanently.

Assassin's Creed 2 follows the story of Desmond Miles as he relives the genetic memories of his ancestor Ezio Auditore da Firenze. It will allow you to experience first hand the conflict between the Templars and the Assassin during the Renaissance in Italy in the 15th century. Enzio will honor his lineage and become an Assassin to attempt to thwart the plans of Rodrigo Borgia, the leader of the Templars. Having to confront all the power of the most influential families of Italy, Enzio's mission won't be easy at all, and it will become even harder when Rodrigo secures his position as the new Pope.

With thrilling action and combat mechanics more complex than it's predecessor but that feels very rewarding, Assassin's Creed 2 made the franchise even more popular by introducing one of the most recognizable main characters in the series. Ezio became a legendary Assassin and he will also be the protagonist of several DLC packs that would become available after the release of Assassin's Creed 2, including The Battle of Forli, Bonfire of the Vanities and Templar Lair.
