Baldur's Gate III: Early Access starts this summer

Baldur's Gate III: Early Access starts this summer

During its very first announcement which happened shortly before E3 2019 during the presentation of Stadia, Baldur's Gate III literally rekindled the flame of the fans of the series. The latest entry in the series was released almost twenty years ago and the wait has been quite long for players who have been dreaming of immersing themselves in the world of Baldur's Gate once more. In addition to the first trailer, we were able to discover a little more about the next installment developed by Larian Studio, during a long demonstration of gameplay at Pax East, which was presented by Swen Vincke himself, CEO of Larian.

Precisely, Swen Vincke recently announced very good news for all the fans who are impatient to be able to play Baldur's Gate III. We knew that the game would join Early Access but the only exit window for that to occur was 2020. Now it's more precise to say that Baldur's Gate III should be playable in Early Access starting next August. Larian announced it via a community update on its youtube channel.

"Perhaps". This is the word that is still added to this possible release of Baldur's Gate III on Early Access. Swen Vincke explains that recent issues related to Covid-19, including telework, has not made things easier for the teams, but if all goes well, there should be no delay. He specifies that they have already defined the content that will be present during the Early Access period. We also learned that the combat system has been improved and it's better than what we could see during the gameplay presentation earlier this year.

And speaking of gameplay, we will be able to have a new overview of Baldur's Gate III on June 18 at 7 p.m. CEST, as part of D&D Live 2020 (whose schedule can be found at this address) an event dedicated to Dungeons & Dragons universe which will take place from June 18 to 20. D&D Live 2020 will also feature a variety of things, such as live Dungeons & Dragons let's play, including one that will take place on June 20 at 9 p.m. with Game of Thrones actors, namely Kristian Nairn, Daniel Portman, Iwan Rheon, Natalia Tena, and Gemma Whelan.
