Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time will be released this fall

The fans of the series have been waiting more than twenty years for the return of Crash Bandicoot. Although the marsupial has appeared in several other games such as the racing game Crash Team Racing, or Crash Bash which was a party game, the heart of the license resides in the first three games: Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2 Cortex Strikes Back, and Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped. The trilogy, initially exclusive to Sony consoles, has also received a remake in 2018 with Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy.

The main story had been on hold since 1998 when Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped was released, but fans will finally be able to continue it since Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time has just been announced with a video.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time takes place after the events of the last installment, in which Crash destroyed the chrono-tornado at the end of Warped. Cortex was sent in the past, but he is now back. The main theme of the game is as its name suggests, is time travel, which is reminiscent of the third installment. In terms of novelties, Crash will have new masks that will give him new powers, such as the ability to slow down time or defy gravity by walking on the ceiling for example.

Crash won't be the only playable character in Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time. Indeed, we can see in the video that we will be able to control Coco and Cortex. Other characters may be playable, and it seems that we can choose when we play one or the other, unlike in Warped, where the character swapping was imposed. Finally, two difficulty levels will be available. A "retro" mode with a certain number of lives and a game over, and a "modern" mode where lives are limitless.

If you can't wait to continue the adventures of Crash and his friends, you won't have to wait very long since Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time will be released on October 2 for PS4 and Xbox One. It will also be available on Xbox Series X. However, we do not yet if there will be a Nintendo Switch version.
