Ghost of Tsushima has gone GOLD

Ghost of Tsushima, one of the most anticipated games of 2021 has gone GOLD. No, that doesn't mean that you will receive a golden box if you purchase a physical copy of the game, it simply means that the developers have deemed the game as finished and ready for mass production ahead of its distribution and launch. Developer Sucker Punch has confirmed it through the official Ghost of Tsushima account on Twitter and it's really good news because the game won't be late to its appointment with the players on July 17.

This announcement has been accompanied by the reveal of the ESRB rating for Ghost of Tsushima, which has been rated M and considered only appropriate for mature players (17+). It's not surprising considering the footage that we have already seen from the game, and although the ERSB puts an emphasis on the high level of violence present in the game, listing acts like dismemberments or decapitations, it also notes that "the game also depicts a man's exposed buttocks as he bathes in a hot spring". We really can't imagine which of those things have weighted more at the time of giving that rating to Ghost of Tsushima. It's quite obvious that the story of a samurai that fights single-handedly against a whole army of invaders on the Japanese island of Tsushima is expected to be bloody, dark, and violent, so the ESRB doesn't really surprise anyone.

Whatever the case, all the players that have been waiting for quite a few long months for Ghost of Tsushima to be ready are a bit closer to experience the adventures of Jin Sakai.
