GTA V is playable in VR through a mod

The Grand Theft Auto series has helped a lot with consolidating Rockstar Games as one of the most important video game developers. The main reason behind that huge success is undoubtedly Grand Theft Auto V. The action-adventure game from Rockstar is the third best-selling videogame of all time with more than 115 million copies sold and the revenue generated by it is even more spectacular. The game is so big that it was released in 2013 and it's still being refreshed with new content and additions.

Without any news from a possible new installment in the series (there are quite a lot fo rumors about GTA VI but there is no official confirmation about the game being released any soon) the fans of the game will have to stick to playing GTA V for a while. If you are one of those players and you want to make full use of the new technologies, you should know that the release of a new mod allows playing GTA V in VR.

The game was already playable in VR before, but the performance wasn't quite good and players usually experienced a series of errors. Fortunately, the release of the latest version of the R.E.A.L. mod solves all those errors and allows players to experience all the thrilling action of GTA V without any problems. The mod also adds a few new features, and it adapts the in-game cutscenes so they can be viewed properly. It also includes MSAA multisampling for better performance on high-end machines.

Right now it only supports HTC Vibe and Valve Index headsets and if you want to give it a try you can download the mod from GitHub. Remember to make a backup of your files to avoid losing any progress you have made in your saved games. If you have not tried Grand Theft Auto 5 PC yet, you can find it at the best price in our comparator.
