Killing Floor 2's latest update adds new weapons and more

When it comes to zombie-killing action Tripwire Interactive is a true eminence in the subject. The creators of Killing Floor 2 have managed to create a game that delivers all you would expect from a game in the genre, including plenty of enemies to kill, frenetic action, visceral gore, a unique blend of weaponry and, above all, a lot of fun. Horzine Biotech’s failed experiment was the origin of the Zeds, bloodthirsty zombie-like creatures that have expanded like a plague across Europe. The resulting chaos has the civilization we knew in disarray and the very few people that have managed to survive have gone into hiding. Luckily enough, some of them are brave enough to face the overwhelming threat that the Zeds represent. Killing Floor 2 is a first-person shooter that allows players to take on hordes of Zeds. It features cooperative gameplay for up to six players but it can also be played solo.

Killing Floor 2 features a variety of game modes, including a survival mode where a group of players can play as the Zeds and fight against another player-controlled human team for survival. But Tripwire Interactive has just released a new update for the game that includes a few novelties. The Neon Nightmares update adds a new community map and two impressive weapons to expand the contents available in Killing Floor 2. Biolapse map will take players to a laboratory overrun by Zeds that will do their best to annihilate them. To get rid of those monstrosities and clear the facility, players will have at their disposal the HRG Incendiary Rifle for the Firebug, which is an alteration of the M16 M203 Assault Rifle that fires incendiary rounds and grenades that will burn Zeds to a crisp. But if you prefer to kill Zeds in style, you should buy the new Compound Bow for the Sharpshooter a versatile bow able to shoot penetrating arrows and explosive projectiles that will freeze enemies on impact.

Neon Nightmares update for Killing floor 2 also includes some balance changes, new items for the in-game shop, limited-time objectives and new achievements to complete. It's available for free to all Killing Floor 2 players and you can read the complete patch notes here if you want.
