Necromunda: Underhive Wars is coming this summer

Developer Rogue Factor has kept most of the Warhammer 40,000 universe fans wondering about the upcoming video game based on the tabletop miniature games from Games Workshop for quite a long time. Necromunda: Underhive Wars was originally announced at the E3 in 2018, and after almost no info has been published about the game since then, most people thought that there was no way that it would be released this summer. It seems that this is one of those cases in which the developers have decided not to make public every single step of the creation of a game but the latest news confirms that Necromunda: Underhive Wars will be released this summer as planned, and also shed some light over some features in the game.

Necromunda: Underhive Wars leaves aside the massive battles involving the armies of the different factions to focus on an aspect of the Warhammer 40,000 universe that is often overlooked, the civilians. The game will take you to the depths of a massive hive city where millions of humans struggle to live in rather extreme conditions and work to fuel the machinery needed to maintain the Imperium running. Among those citizens, there are always some people that look for alternative ways of living and you can find ruthless gangs whose members explore the depths of the city searching for forgotten technology and treasures while they fight against monsters and other gangs.

Necromunda: Underhive Wars will feature gameplay similar to the one seen in Mordheim: City of the Damned and it will put you in control of one of three possible gangs through the 15 scenarios of the single-player campaign. Initially, only House Escher, House Goliath, and House Orlock will be available but more factions will be added later. Each of them features unique classes, weapons, and skills. You will also be able to create your own gang and take on missions against the AI and other players.

The only thing left to know is when exactly Necromunda: Underhive Wars will be available but it's likely that we will receive more info about that in the upcoming weeks since the launch is planned for this summer on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
