Ubisoft officially announces Far Cry 6

It was quite obvious that Ubisoft would reveal Far Cry 6 this weekend. With Ubisoft Forward taking place yesterday and the leak that took place a few days earlier, it was almost unavoidable that the french company talked about the new installment in the Far Cry series during the event. They even managed to increase the number of people watching the event by offering a copy of Watch Dogs 2 for free to the viewers, so it was the perfect opportunity to let everyone see the first footage of Far Cry 6 among the other games that were shown. You can watch the Far Cry 6 world premiere trailer below.

In Far Cry 6, Giancarlo Esposito will be Anton Castillo, a tyrant that rules with an iron hand the fictional island of Yara, and the video gives us a first look at the situation in the country and shows us what kind of person he is. As you can imagine, you will play as his antagonist, Dani Rojas, a member of the guerrilla that tries to overthrow him. You can play as a male or as a female in the game, and you will need to create a network of allies that will help you to fight against the dictator. Of course, you will have to back your claims with the force of weapons if you want to have an opportunity against the military forces controlled by Castillo, and Far Cry 6 will put at your disposal a wide array of weapons and vehicles of all kinds.

Nothing has been revealed about Far Cry 6 gameplay so we expect to see more on that matter in the weeks ahead of the release of the game to find out what kind of novelties Ubisoft will add. Far Cry 6 will be released on February 18, 2021, and it will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, and Xbox One.

Oh, and if you missed the Ubisoft Forward event and you would like to get your free copy of Watch Dogs 2, all you have to do is visit this address, log in with your Uplay account, and the game will be added to your library at no cost.
