35 million copies sold are not enough for Terraria

35 million copies sold are not enough for Terraria

It may not come as a surprise for those that have been playing Terraria for a while. The game has a huge fan base that has been growing over the years, and it's one of the most popular indie games that you will find across all video game genres. Even though most Terraria players enjoy the game on PC it's also quite popular across several other platforms, including consoles and mobile devices. Developer Re-Logic has recently confirmed that the game is really something special by revealing some numbers that would make pale some AAA games.

More than 35 million copies of Terraria have been sold across all platforms in its lifetime, with 17.2 million of those sold on PC, 8.5 million sold on consoles, and 9.3 million sold on mobile devices. Those are quite impressive numbers indeed, especially for a game that was released ten years ago. The reasons behind its huge success are quite clear, plenty of gameplay options, an impossible number of secrets areas and achievements to discover, and very simple gameplay mechanics that captivate those that try it from the very first moment.

Terraria has slowly grown until it has become a monster, and it's bound to become even bigger. You just have to read the reviews of the game on Steam to realize that this is one of the most solid bets if you are looking for a 2D sandbox action-adventure game. It has recently surpassed Portal 2 and now holds the first spot in the list of the 250 best Steam games of all time according to gamer reviews.

Developer Re-Logic has quite a few things in store for Terraria, and Steam Workshop support and crossplay are just a couple of things that may be added to the game in the future. Of course, if you have not discovered Terraria yet, you can find it at the best price thanks to our comparator anytime.
