A new Robocop game is on the way

Guess who’s back to protect the innocent? Publisher Nacon has announced that a Robocop game, Robocop: Rogue City, is in the works, and by the looks of the trailer, it’s pretty far along. You can check out the announcement trailer here:

Studio Teyon, who is developing Robocop: Rogue City, had previously developed Terminator: Resistance

From the trailer, it’s pretty easy to tell that Peter Weller, who portrayed Robocop (Officer Alex Murphy) in the first and second movies, is lending his likeness and voice to his iconic character once more.

Even better, the game stays faithful to the setting and ambiance of the films. We still get a crumbling Detroit that’s almost falling apart from rampant crime and violent gang wars. Megacorp OCP is still the center of corruption in the city. We even have the return of the monstrous ED209, who was Robocop’s antagonist in the original film. What’s new is that Robocop himself may be experiencing some form of glitch, since he hesitated to act during a crime in progress. What this bodes for Detroit’s finest cop remains to be seen.

Here’s the official synopsis for game:

RoboCop is a classic sci-fi action-adventure and one of Hollywood’s most iconic film franchises of all time. NACON and Teyon are working with MGM to develop an authentic RoboCop game experience that is faithful to the franchise’s DNA, while immersing gamers in an original story that enables them to play as none other than RoboCop himself. In the RoboCop film, when good cop Alex Murphy is fatally wounded by ruthless criminals, innovative doctors are able to piece him back together as an unstoppable crime-fighting cyborg called “RoboCop.”

Robocop: Rogue City is set to launch in June 2023 for PC and consoles. You can keep an eye out for the best prices for a Robocop: Rogue City CD key with our comparator.
