Released last August, Age of Wonders: Planetfall turned out to be a big hit. Developed by Triumph Studios, it must be said that this latest entry in the series is based on solid foundations, with the first title of the series being released twenty years ago. And even if Age of Wonders: Planetfall is radically different from its predecessors, it benefits from the studio's long experience in turn-based 4X strategy.
Age of Wonders: Planetfall, who left the fantastic medieval setting to immerse you into a sci-fi universe, gets today its first DLC called Revelations. In this expansion, you will witness the return of the Esteqs, an ancient dynasty, whose heirs, the Heritors, are trying to establish a divine empire with their technology after the fall of the Star Union. Revelations offers this narrative arc and a host of new content, including two new campaign missions that follow the rise of the Esteqs and represent more than ten hours of play. Revelations also introduces more than thirty new locations in which you meet new enemies and win new rewards. You can also combine them to create new combat instances. New capabilities are also available because you can use the technology of the Heritors to your advantage to create weapons and also invoke units.
Revelations is the first DLC included in the Age of Wonders: Planetfall Season Pass, which contains three in total. The second is scheduled for spring 2020 and it should include a new playable race, a new campaign, and a global event system. The third DLC will come out in the fall of 2020, but its content is still unknown.
In addition to the release of Revelations for Age of Wonders: Planetfall, console players can now enjoy a free demo of the game on PS4 and Xbox One. This trial version allows you to discover the basic game, but it does not offer multiplayer.
