Anthem’s public demo went beyond expectations, says BioWare

Anthem really put off a great show in their public demo with all the buzz going around the gaming community just hours after the event. While there were some issues with it, still the good things outweighed the bad ones. Some players experienced loading screens that took forever to load and then there’s the audio bug that left others playing in silence. Others had to restart their games to get them properly working. However, all those aside, Anthem can be considered a huge success. Chad Robertson, BioWare's head of live service, said in their post-demo update that the public demo last weekend “exceeded their expectations”. In the same announcement, he said that the response was “overwhelmingly positive” with a total of over 40M hours of play in their two demo weekends. He was equally impressed with the Javelin customization done and posted a few images that caught his eye.

It’s due to this wild response that EA announced that BioWare’s Anthem may sell around 5-6 million units by the end of March. They also expect money to come rolling in from their live services. For now, the developers are focused on the final release of the game and the updates and improvements that weren't in the demo build. They are also fixing the server issues that many players are complaining about.
