Astro Bot receives a seasonal update

Winter and especially Christmas time are the favourite times of the year of many people in real life but it also brings novelties to video games like Astro Bot. Developer Team Asobi is launching today a new seasonal update for its unique platformer that may soon be the Game of the Year 2024. Winter Wonder is a free update for the game that includes a series of festive surprises that are very appropriate for this season.

Winter is coming

Astro Bot players who have completed the game will have access to this new seasonal content starting today. The update will be available at 6:00 pm PT and it will include a new level full of surprises that players can explore to rescue exclusive robots.

The developer team has talked about the upcoming update on the PlayStation Blog.

“Since we want it to remain a little surprise, we will not say too much, but you should expect a fun-filled level with shiny presents, a good dose of jingle bells, and brand-new special bots to add to your crew. This winter update was made with every user in mind, meaning it is a celebration enjoyable for children and adults alike. So, no hair-pulling challenge this time!  We had a lot of fun making this special present for you all, and we hope you enjoy it very much, too."

Since Team Asobi wants to keep the details about the seasonal content a surprise you will have to discover them by yourself in Astro Bot. According to the developer studio, this will be the last update that the platformer will receive this year but we don't know yet if it's open to release more post-launch content for Astro Bot.
