Babylon's Fall: beta is about to begin

Babylon's Fall: beta is about to begin

Among the many biblical myths, one of the best known is undoubtedly that of the Tower of Babel. Although it has given rise to various interpretations over the centuries, we all have the image in our heads of this spiral-shaped tower rising towards the heavens. Synonymous with pride, sometimes with love, but also with divine punishment, many works in literature, music, cinema, and even video games have taken up the Babel myth to tell fabulous stories. This is notably the case of Babylon's Fall, a game developed by Platinum Games and published by Square Enix that was revealed at E3 2018.

Not much was revealed at the time, but gamers had high hopes for Babylon's Fall, as the game is being developed by the creators of Bayonetta and Vanquish, among others. But as more and more revelations were made, especially during E3 2021 last month, they could see that Babylon's Fall would not take the form that was expected. Babylon's Fall will be a co-op, online-only, cross-play service game. This doesn't stop most players from being eager to give it a try, and this is good news, as Platinum Games has just announced that they will be running closed beta phases on PC via Steam in the very near future.

The first beta phase for Babylon's Fall will be available only in Japan and will start on July 29th. The second one will be reserved for players in the United States, starting on August 5th. Finally, Europeans will be able to participate on August 12th. Platinum warns that the content of these beta phases will be quite limited and that they will be more of a technical test for the online features of Babylon's Fall.

To learn more about the modalities of the different beta phases, there is a list of frequently asked questions available on the official website of Babylon's Fall, along with a tutorial to install the beta that you can check out right here.
