We love that Battlefield 5 is regularly expanding its available content with free updates. Those usually come in the form of new chapters of Tides of War. Each of the chapters comes with new challenges, rewards to unlock and multiplayer maps, and the upcoming one is not going to be any different. Developer DICE has published a new video that introduces us to the novelties coming in Tides Of War Chapter 4: Defying the Odds.
Defying the Odds will include a few different maps that will come progressively to Battlefield 5. Provence (France) and Lofoten Islands (Norway) are small maps designed around close-quarters combat. The launch date for those has not been confirmed yet but they will arrive sometime in August. Then we have two huge maps with room for 64 players. The first of those will be Al Sudan that will take us to North Africa to fight in the desert. It is based on Under No Flag single-player mission, and it´s coming this month, probably on the 27th, when Tides of War Chapter 4: Defying the Odds will launch. Later on, in July, we will get to play the Marita map. On it, we will visit Greece in the continuation of Mercury. We will join the Allied forces as they make a stand to stop the advance of the Axis army on a gorgeous mountainside. The footage you can see at the end of the video indicates that the action in Battlefield 5 is moving to the Pacific Theatre, a World War II scenario that has not been visited yet in this installment of the Battlefield series. We are guessing that Tides of War Chapter 5 will probably take place there but nothing about it has been confirmed yet so we will have to wait a few months to see if it's true.
Along with the new maps, Tides of War Chapter 4: Defying the Odds will also include new maps, vehicles, and weapon updates for Firestorm mode, and if you complete the different weekly challenges you will get plenty of rewards. What else could you ask from a free update?
