Beyond Good and Evil is getting a 20th anniversary edition but its sequel is still missing

Beyond Good and Evil is an action-adventure released in 2003 by Ubisoft. The game is a critically acclaimed that is considered one of the best video games of all time and a masterpiece created by Michel Ancel, the famous creator of the Rayman series. With such a background, it's no wonder that Ubisoft is more than willing to release a special edition of the game on occassion of it's 20th anniversary. The French publisher has announced that there will be more news about Beyond Good and Evil - 20th Anniversary Edition tomorrow at the Limited Run Games Showcase.

Where is the sequel?

It's quite surprising that such an announcement has been done via the offical Beyond Good and Evil 2 account on the social media platform, and that's mainly because the sequel has been missing in action since it was announced with a spectacular cinematic trailer six years ago. Since then, it seems that the game has been immersed in a development hell for unknown reasons, and there are serious doubts about it being released, ever. Michel Ancel has abandoned video games development and there are no news from Ubisoft regarding the project. However, the official website of the game is still up and the game has not been cancelled as far as everyone knows.

Tomorrow's event would be a great opportunity to provide the fans with an update on the situation of Beyond Good and Evil 2, but it's quite unlikely to happen. Maybe Ubisoft is saving it as it trump card if Beyond Good and Evil - 20th Anniversary Edition does not counter the disappointment of a huge legion of fans that have been waiting news about the sequel for so many years. In any case, if you want to pay a visit to the original game, it's still available on PC and you can use our comparator to get a copy of Beyond Good and Evil at the best price. We hope that the Anniversary Edition brings some good news tomorrow.
