Blizzard reveals the new Overwatch character

Some would say that Blizzard has been arriving late to the party with some of their latest games. Heroes of the Storm is a MOBA whose player base doesn't seem to be as important as the ones from DOTA 2 or League of Legends. Overwatch is a competitive first-person shooter that is doing quite nicely, but at the same time, it has been suffering for certain matchmaking problems that have driven some players away from the game. Fortunately enough, it seems that the creators of Warcraft and Diablo are committed to improving their games and keep them among the best titles of their respective genres. A few days ago, we told you about the upcoming changes to the queue system in Overwatch that aim to fix the problems caused by the dominance of GOATS-type teams. Now Blizzard has presented a new character that will be joining the ranks of Overwatch heroes very soon.

The combat-medic Baptiste was added to the game just a few months ago, but now we will have Sigma expanding the roster of heroes and villains that the players can play in Overwatch. As you can see, the video reveals a bit of the story of this new character. He is a brilliant scientist victim of an accident while he was experimenting with gravity to harness the power of a black hole. Due to a disastrous failure, he sustained serious psychological damage, and was deemed a threat to humanity and locked away for years in a secret government facility. You can imagine that those years of captivity have not helped to improve his mental state, and when Talon members free him, he doesn't have any issues with joining the evil guys. His powers allow him to control gravity, and even if nothing has been revealed about his skills in the game, we can imagine that he will be able to use those powers to cause damage and restrict the movement of his opponents.

We will have to wait a bit longer to learn more about the powers of Overwatch's 31st character, but until that happens you have plenty of other characters to choose from, and you will even be able to play DPS characters in competitive matches without having to listen to your teammates complaining thanks to the new changes.
