Bloodlines 2 won't arrive anytime soon

Despite being quite a popular franchise that has been already adapted with success to video games, Vampire: The Masquerade seems to be somewhat troublesome in recent years. World of Darkness MMORPG was in development for a long while before being canceled and Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is suffering from a troublesome development that is being extended for much longer than anyone would have expected. Some important members of the project have left it already and the release of the game has been postponed already. Now, Paradox Interactive confirms that it's quite unlikely that the game will arrive in the first half of 2021, crushing any hopes that we could play it any soon.

Paradox CEO Ebba Ljungerud has stated in a recent interview that the release of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 has been heavily affected by the situation with the pandemic and also by their commitment to release the game on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, which has been translated in a lot more work. Of course, the same thing could be said pretty much for every other game that is to be released in 2020 and although it is probably true, it's quite significant that developer Hardsuit Labs is needing such a long time to come up with the final version of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2. It's even more noteworthy if we consider that the footage of the game that they have shown already looked reasonably good.

It seems that all of the Vampire: The Masquerade fans will have to wait for a long time before they can play Bloodlines 2, and it's a real shame. Developers even stopped providing additional information about the game and it would be nice if we could have at least that. Hopefully, they will be more communicative about Bloodlines 2 in the months to come.
