Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is coming.

After a long wait, Producer Koji ‘Iga’ Igarashi’s spiritual successor of the Castlevania series is finally coming to PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One next month. 505 Games and ArtPlay have announced the release date of the game today with a trailer, along with the confirmation of a Nintendo Switch version that’s to be released soon after, on June 25th to be exact.

Game Story of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night focuses on the story of Miriam, who was originally an orphan but that was taken in and cared for by a guild of alchemists. She was then subjected to various experiments throughout her life. She was exposed to crystallized demonic energy and eventually began to crystallize. When she wakes up from a ten-year coma, she finds out that the crystallization process has been slowed down by an alchemist who opposes the actions of the guild that took her in. Miriam then sets off on a quest to find the people responsible for her curse and to stop them from bringing further evil into the world.

Back on Track

Even with a few delays and negative feedback during its beta backer demo, Igarashi wasn’t deterred and kept on working on the project. He said that time is important to raise the quality level of the game and that all that time wasn’t wasted. The trailer above emphasizes the changes of the game through the years by putting side by side visuals from Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. The contrast between the old and the new is stunning. It’s easy to notice the clear outlines, the improved lighting, and the much more vibrant colors popping out the screen.
