CD Projekt Red has finally shed some light over its upcoming projects. The upcoming launch of an expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 and a new The Witcher game are not enough for the developer and expanding those two franchises is its first goal. A recent video delves into the long term strategy of the company and it reveals three major highlights: a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, a new The Witcher trilogy, and a new IP codenamed Hadar.
First things first. The announcement of a future sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 makes all sense if we consider the good results of the game in the last few months. It has finally established itself as one of the most played games on Steam despite the huge problems it had at launch. CD Projekt Red already stated that the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 expansion will be the only one that it will release for the game. Therefore, we will probably see a completely different protagonist and an unrelated storyline in the sequel. The world of Cyberpunk 2077 offers a lot of opportunities.
We already knew that there will be more The Witcher games thanks to an official announcement. What we didn´t know is that CD Projekt Red is planning to release a new trilogy over a six-year period. The project is codenamed "Polaris" and we expect to hear more about it in the future. Aside from that trilogy, two new spin offs will be released by external studios, so the fans of The Witcher won't get bored anytime soon.
The announcement is even more interesting, because CDPR has also confirmed that is bringing multiplayer to both franchises. Although both Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher are single-player experiences, adding multiplayer elements would definitely take them to a completely different level.

Accompanying all these titles, CDPR has also confirmed that its working on a brand new IP. CDPR Michal Nowakowski has talked on this project that will require some time before it shapes into a game that we can play.
"I am excited to announce that CD Projekt Red has begun creative exploration on a third, entirely distinct IP, codenamed Hadar. We had started thinking about it a few years ago. Early stage conceptual works commenced in 2021, and for the first time in our history the IP is being incubated entirely within CD Projekt Red."
If you thought that CDPR wouldn't survive the problematic launch of Cyberpunk 2077, think twice. The company seems to be stronger than ever and plans to build on the popularity of its two biggest franchises to continue delivering great games. Remember that you can find Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt at the best price with our comparator if you are wondering what's behind the company's success.
