Concord surprises with its beta and gameplay features

It's not until you try a game that you truly know what to expect and that's what's happening with Concord. The upcoming team-based competitive shooter looked quite interesting when it was announced and the first beta event has proven that it really is different than anything seen in the genre so far. One thing is sure, Concord is not what many players were expecting. The game is definitely fun and a good enough shooter, but there are already many players who hate it, and it's just because it's not like the games they are used to playing, in many ways.

Not a conventional shooter

If you have been following us or you have read about Concord you already know that one of its features is that deployable items are persistent. Once you drop a healing pad, a wall or a shield, it stays there for good. Once you immerse into the game, you feel that it's quite an enjoyable shooter, but after some matches, you will notice that the strategy is quite deeper. Soon after the beta started, players started fortifying positions with deployable items, which made assaulting them quite a challenge. Depending on what mode you are playing, this can result in a very effective strategy that will neutralize quite a few players. Conversely, once you learn how to utilize the tools at your disposal, you also have better opportunities to counter strategies like this.

Concord is an incredibly fun game but that requires an appropriate strategy if you want to counter your opponent's tactics. It's not just about perfect aim, fast reactions, and overpowered skill combinations. This seems to be a problem for many players who have been very critical of the game already. However, the general reaction to the beta is quite positive even though it may have left it very clear that Concord could not be a game for everyone.

In any case, if you missed the first beta, the upcoming open beta event will allow you to discover if Concord is your cup of tea or not. If you decide that you like the game and can't wait to play it when it's released on August 23, remember that our comparator can provide you with the best deals on Concord game codes for PC and PlayStation 5.
