Pearl Abyss has not been very talkative about Crimson Desert since the game was announced quite a few months ago. The creators of Black Desert Online have been quite busy adding content and more classes to their MMORPG and even though the fans were very interested in the new game, we have learned very few things about it. We know that Crimson Desert was originally going to be an open-world role-playing game heavily inspired by the world of Black Desert Online. The developers opted for a new approach though, and now it's a story-driven adventure focused on a group of mercenaries in the world of Pywel, and it will also include multiplayer functionalities. You can discover a bit more about the game in a new video that was revealed yesterday during The Game Awards 2020.
As you can see in the video, Crimson Desert reminds us of Black Desert Online, especially during combats and we can see some moves that should be familiar to anyone that has ever played the MMORPG. Thankfully, the quality of the graphics seems to be outstanding for both games too. But we also can see quite a lot of features that set apart both games, including several mechanics that are not available on Black Desert Online. Despite any similarities that both games may share, Crimson Desert already looks amazing and we can't wait to know more about all its features.
Considering the amount of time that the developer has needed to reveal a second video, we probably will have to wait before we know more about Crimson Desert. But yesterday's video was accompanied by an important piece of information that will, at least, give us some hope to all the players interested in the game: the release of Crimson Desert is slated for 2021 on PC and consoles.
