2020 has been a very tough year for video game developers all over the world. The huge impact of the pandemic on the planned schedules and the need of adapting the work methods to do it remotely have caused the postponement of many release dates. Some video games have even been delayed more than once. Cyberpunk 2077 has just got the dubious honor of joining the list of those games. The launch of CD Projekt Red's sci-fi action role-playing game was originally planned for last Spring but it was delayed until November 19. Now, it's been postponed again.
The news about the delay of Cyberpunk 2077 has been published on the official Twitter account of the game. The reasons behind it are ones that we are used to hearing in this type of cases: they need more time to finish the game. Although this may seem contradictory with the announcement of the game going Gold earlier this month, it's not the case. All the content in Cyberpunk 2077 seems to be finished but more testing is needed to deliver a version that is up to the developer's standards on every platform. That means testing and polishing nine different versions of Cyberpunk 2077 and it's going to take longer than expected, mainly due to having to work remotely from home.

Although the reasons given by the develpers make sense, it's quite discouraging to see the arrival of what is probably going to be one of the most important games in the recent years to be delayed again. By this time and considering the current situation, if you are one of those that plan their vacations ahead according to the release of a video game you should have already learned that it's quite a risky move. But the news is not really that bad. The release of Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed 21 days only, and it's scheduled for December 10.
