During the last few days, there have been rumors that pointed to this week as the one chosen by Sony for the celebration of its next State of Play. Whether you own a PlayStation 5 or a PlayStation 4 it's one of the most interesting events of the year for you, as it showcases the games and novelties coming to Sony's platforms in the upcoming months. This time, the rumors were true, and Sony has just confirmed that the new State of Play will take place on Thursday, July 8 at 2 pm PT. It will last for about 30 minutes and if you are interested in Deathloop you shouldn't miss it, as it's going to be the main protagonist of this State of Play.
The upcoming multiplayer game from Arcane Studios and Bethesda has been in the spotlight for a while as it will introduce quite original gameplay mechanics. The protagonist Deathloop is an assassin stuck in a time loop that keeps him trapped inside an island. The only way of escaping from it is getting rid of several targets, but it won't be as easy as it sounds because there's another assassin that will try to take you down. Every time you die or fail to accomplish your goal the day resets and you start all over from the beginning, but you keep your memories. Therefore, you will have to make use of the knowledge you have gained and plan your moves ahead until you can devise and execute a strategy that allows you to escape from the loop.
Of course, Deathloop will not be the only game present in the State of Play, but according to Sony, you shouldn't expect to receive information about any of the major titles coming to PlayStation consoles, including the new God of War and Horizon Forbidden West. We are sure that there will be some surprises during the event though, and we will be telling you about them by the end of the week.
