Diablo II remaster is a reality

Diablo II remaster is a reality

Even though we speculated about it a few weeks ago in another article, the launch of a brand new version of the classic action role-playing game Diablo II has been officially announced just a couple of days ago. Blizzcon Online, the yearly event that serves as a platform to reveal all the novelties coming to Blizzard games throughout the upcoming months, have taken place last weekend and it has brought plenty of announcements. The most interesting one puts the classic ARPG that catapulted the Diablo series to the glory in the spotlight with a remastered version of Diablo II that will delight the fans.

Diablo II: Resurrected is a new take on the classic game and its expansion Lord of Destruction that will be coming this year to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. It will include the whole campaign in the original game and its expansion as well as the seven character classes: Amazon, Assassin, Barbarian, Druid, Necromancer, Paladin, and Sorceress. Diablo II: Resurrected will enhance the gameplay experience with dynamic lighting, new animations, support for graphics in 4K, and revamped cinematics, but the aim of the developers is to make players feel exactly the same as when they played the original game. After all, Diablo II is still considered the best game in the Diablo series by a majority of players, even though Diablo III has met great success and there are still quite many people playing to it. Diablo II: Resurrected will feature crossplay across all platforms, which will be perfect to have fun with your friends and boost the thrilling multiplayer gameplay that made the original game so popular.

As we anticipated, Vicarious Visions will be the ones in charge of making the remaster, and it will be a great opportunity to show the experience they gained with Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy. No release date has been confirmed for Diablo II: Resurrected but we expect to have more news about it in the following weeks.
