The next installment in the Battlefield series has been a mystery so far. Developer DICE has been quite secretive about everything related to a game whose name is not even confirmed but that most people expect to be Battlefield VI. At least until now. It seems that the studio is ready to start talking about the game and it has revealed a few things about its upcoming first-person shooter. Yesterday, a post on the Battlefield official account on Twitter announced that the reveal will take place soon, and everything has been set in motion from then.

DICE General Manager Oskar Gabrielson has published a post on the Battlefield blog in which he highlights a few things about Battlefield VI. The most important one is the official confirmation of the release window for the game, which should be arriving in the Holiday season this year on PC and consoles The launch would take place at some point during the last three months of 2021 but we won't know a more precise release date until later. Gabrielson proceeds to explain that there are several teams involved in the development of the game and confirms that the game is going through internal testing and polishing now. He reveals a few interesting facts about Battlefield VI:
It has everything we love about Battlefield – and takes all of it to the next level. Epic scale. All-out military warfare. Crazy, unexpected moments. Game-changing destruction. Massive battles, packed with more players and mayhem than ever before. All brought to life with the power of next-gen consoles and PCs.
Also, Battlefield will join the long list of games that have made the jump to mobile devices. DICE is working with Industrial Toys to create a new Battlefield game that should be coming in 2022. It's meant to be a standalone title completely different from the PC game though.
DICE has started spilling the beans about Battlefield VI and the official reveal of the game will take place soon. Until then, Battlefield V still offers you quite a thrilling first-person shooting experience with its massive battles.
