There will be no microtransactions in Stellar Blade

It's been a week since Stellar Blade released its demo on PS5. This upcoming action-adventure game, developed by Shift Up, has received a lot of positive feedback from the gaming community. Many have been eagerly awaiting more information from the publisher. In a recent interview with a Korean publication Ruliweb, translated and summarized by Genki, director Kim Hyeong-tae shed light on what players can expect on launch day.

Kim Hyeon-tae stated that the game will not feature any microtransactions on launch day. However, future collab editions will incur fees. "We want to make it clear at this point that Stellar Blade will not require any additional expenses that gamers are not aware of beyond what they paid for the package. The only exception is if we create collaboration costumes with another company's IP, those may be sold for a fee."

He then mentioned that the New Game+ feature will not be available on launch day but will be updated in the future, so players should be patient. "Also, there is no New Game+ in the launch version, so please look forward to it being updated very soon."

This is good news, as Dragon's Dogma 2 faced a lot of negative backlash from the public due to its release with numerous paid microtransactions. As for Stellar Blade collabs, they may happen soon; the mobile game Goddess of Victory: NIKKE, also developed by Shift Up, has already collaborated with various IPs, so players can expect visually stunning costumes and weapons in the near future.

Stellar Blade is set to launch exclusively on PS5 on April 26. Make sure not to miss out on this highly anticipated release by utilizing our price comparison tool to preorder Stellar Blade.
