Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero could get missing fighters in the future

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero launched amid high anticipation, and it has surpassed all expectations impressively. The game currently ranks among the most-played fighting games on Steam, surpassing titles like Mortal Kombat 11 and Tekken 7.

As the successor to Budokai Tenkaichi, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero boasts an extensive roster of nearly 200 characters in the game. Prior leaks suggested that the game might even have an even larger roster with some characters already revealed through DLCs. Recent rumors also hint at more characters being added in the future, yet to be announced to players.

Despite Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero having the largest in-game roster of any fighting game series, diehard Dragon Ball fans have noticed a few characters from Budokai Tenkaichi 3 missing, including fan favorites. Characters like Demon King Piccolo and Super 17—major villains in Dragon Ball GT—are absent from the character lineup, which has shocked many fans.

Missing characters found in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero's internal data

In a thread posted by MondoMega on BlueSky, leftover data from Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero was discovered, suggesting several characters were cut from the base game. MondoMega noted that while Spike Chunsoft removed most references to Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero’s upcoming Super Hero and Daima DLCs, traces of cut content from the base game remain, including some playable characters from Budokai Tenkaichi 3.

Recent leaks have also suggested a "Martial Arts Pack" DLC for Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, although the content of this DLC remains undisclosed.
