Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero meets the expectations and crushes previous records

We talked about it ahead of the release. Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero was one of the most anticipated games of the year. The game developer by Spike Chunksoft left many others in the dust even before it was released, boasting an impressive number of pre-orders across all platforms. As expected, those numbers have translated to an impressive number of concurrent players who have rushed to take part in thrilling battles in the role of their favourite characters from Dragon Ball. This is not surprising as Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero features the largest roster in the series with over 180 characters to choose from, each with its own iconic attacks and powers.

Far ahead of others

According to SteamDB, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero has gathered over 122,500 players on Steam. This is a notable number, especially in the fighting video game genre. The biggest franchises among fighting games never got anywhere close to that amount of concurrent players on Valve's platform. With its 35,000 players, Mortal Kombat 11 almost doubled the numbers achieved by Tekken 7, which sits at almost 19,000. Street Fighter 6 left them far behind with a peak of 70,500 players. If Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero keeps growing, it could be twice as successful as Street Fighter 6 on this specific matter.

Such a success can be deemed normal if we consider that Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero is inspired by one of the most popular manga and anime series of all time. However, we will still have to wait a bit longer to see if those numbers dwindle fast or if the game stays at the top of the genre. Still, it's crystal clear that Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero delivers what the fans of the series were asking for, which is something worthy of praise if we consider the huge number of games that end up failing because they fall short of what they promised.

As usual, remember that our comparator is the best source of cheap Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero digital codes and also keep an eye on the content that will be added to the game very soon via the Season Pass.
