Dying Light receives a next-gen update on PS5

Even though the recent release of Dying Light 2 is a success, Techland does not forget about those that have a special love for its prequel. The studio promised a while ago that they would be launching a next-gen update for Dying Light, and it finally arrives today on PlayStation 5. Dying Light was released in 2005; therefore, the difference between its graphics and the ones in Dying Light 2 is quite noticeable, but both games deliver an exciting survival experience that is worth your time. Still, the new update comes with performance improvements that take advantage of the superior performance of the new platforms.

Taking advantage of the new generation of consoles

The Dying Light update for PlayStation 5 increases the view distance by 25% and adds three different video modes. Performance mode gets you 60 FPS in Full HD resolution, Balanced mode offers 60 FPs in QHD resolution, and the High Resolution mode allows you to play Dying Light with 30 FPS in 4K. Also, if you play the game on PS4 Pro, you will notice an improved FPS cap. The upgrade is completely free for all those that own the game on Sony's platforms, and a similar upgrade will be available for Xbox Series X/S players in the near future.

With this upgrade, Techland demonstrates that it cares about the product that has put them where they are and that many players still enjoy as one of the best first-person survival horror experiences. Of course, Dying Light 2 stands far above it in terms of graphics and gameplay, but the older title is still a game worth playing.
