EA announces the EA Play Live Spotlight Series

EA announces the EA Play Live Spotlight Series

For a few years now, Electronic Arts has been organizing its own event on the sidelines of E3 to announce its upcoming games. But most of the time, the editor's conference is more or less included in the event, as it takes place at the same time. This year, however, EA has decided to really go for it alone by scheduling its EA Play Live for July 22nd, about a month after everyone else.

The news came as a surprise, because while shifting the date so far away from E3 means that there isn't too much competition in terms of game announcements, the event still gets a certain amount of momentum, as the spotlight is on the world of video games at that time, and you can find articles about announcements made there even outside the specialized press during that period.

But it turns out that EA has planned several events, each with a specific theme, and the company has just revealed the full schedule.

Thursday, July 8th, 7 pm CEST: The Future of First-Person Shooters
This first event is dedicated to the company's FPS licenses, and will feature Apex Legends and Battlefield 2042.

Tuesday 13 July, 8 pm CEST: EA <3s Independent Studios
Independent games will be in the spotlight with prestigious guests such as Josef Fares, creator of It Takes Two, and Guha Bala of Knockout City, among others.

Monday 19 July, 01 am CEST: Madden NFL 22 All-Access: Scouting - How the community shapes Madden NFL 22
As the name suggests, this panel will be entirely dedicated to Madden NFL 22 and in particular to its community. It will give us an overview of the game's new scouting feature and sandbox mode.

Tuesday, July 20, 7 pm CEST: More EA SPORTS!
This event is dedicated to another EA Sports game, but EA isn't telling us anything else about it at the moment. We just know that it's a "new installment in a long-running and hugely popular EA Sports series"

Thursday 22nd July 7 pm CEST: EA Play Live
As for the main event, EA has not yet revealed which games we will be able to watch apart from Apex Legends and Battlefield 2042. On the other hand, two licenses eagerly anticipated by the players will not be part of the show: Dragon Age and Mass Effect 4. BioWare has announced this bad news on its official Twitter account.
