EA keeps improving Star Wars Jedi: Survivor with new patches

Despite its performance problems at launch, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has gained the hearts of many fans with a thrilling storyline and enhanced gameplay mechanics. The sequel to Stars Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has stoically endured a wave of negative reviews on all fronts. EA has continued solving problems and enhancing the game's performance across all platforms during the few weeks that have passed since it was released. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is in a much better state now, but there's work to be done, and EA has launched a new patch to address some issues on PC.

Closer to the goal

Each step EA takes gets Star Wars Jedi: Survivor closer to where it should have been at launch. Fortunately, they have nothing to fix outside those performance problems as all other aspects of the game are great. The latest patch includes several performance fixes and stability improvements alongside the following highlights:

  • (PC only) Improved content caching to reduce hitching.
  • (PC only) Improved thread handling when raytracing is turned off.
  • (PC only) Fix for an issue where lowering the PC visual settings would incorrectly lower your resolution scale if FSR is disabled.
    • Note: if you previously disabled FSR and are playing on a lower visual quality, you may want to readjust your quality settings.
  • (PC only) Fix for a reset button not responding on PC when using both controller and keyboard.

If you are playing Star Wars Jedi: Survivor on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S, you can expect these improvements to arrive very soon as part of a future console update. In any case, those will not be the last ones, and you will see more patches in the upcoming weeks until everything runs smoothly.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has very demanding system requirements on PC, and it's normal that those players with computers that meet them expect the maximum performance. Maybe EA should have spent more time polishing the game, but it's not like Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was anywhere close to other titles that made it to the news for similar reasons in the past. Just a bit of polishing and you will get the best experience on all platforms.
