Miscommunication can sometimes be enough to thwart the release of a highly-anticipated game on specific platforms. This seems to be the case for Enotria: The Last Song, whose release on Xbox consoles has been postponed indefinitely. The release of the game is scheduled for September 19 on PlayStation 5 but the lack of a release date on Xbox Series followed by the official announcement of the postponement generated plenty of speculation about a possible exclusivity deal between Jyamma Games and Sony. It could be a possibility given the current competition between both companies, but it would be strange because an Xbox version of the game was already announced. In any case, it seems that the problem is quite simple, and its origin has nothing to do with Sony.
Following the official statement about the release of Enotria: The Last Song on Xbox being officially cancelled, the studio has shed more light on this matter wanting to make things clear to stop speculation. In a publication on X, the developer stated that the game was practically ready for Xbox Series X/S, but Microsoft hasn't replied to them for the last two months, hence the cancellation of the release for those platforms. This is quite unusual but such lack of communication has ended with a sizeable community upset about the outcome. Enotria: The Last Song is a new Souls-like game of Italian inspiration that features stunning graphics, and it caught the eye of many players when it was announced. Some people even had the opportunity to discover the game with the official demo.
The only thing Sony did was work with us on getting the game ready on their platform, Microsoft, on the other hand, is taking 2 months to reply to our submission when we have the game practically ready for both Series S and X

In any case, Jyamma Games has not abandoned the possibility of launching Enotria: The Last Song on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S sometime in the future. Hopefully, Microsoft will contact them and the process to release the game on those platforms will be completed sooner or later. Until that happens, the game will only be available on PlayStation 5 and PC in two weeks.
