Epic Games Store offers you three free games this week

More than just a habit, it's almost become the norm for the Steam rival platform to offer at least one free game every week. But there are times when Epic Games is even more generous. This is the case this week, as you can pick up not one but three games for free on the platform today.

The first one is Deponia: The Complete Journey, but it's actually three games together in one collection: Deponia, Chaos on Deponia, and Goodbye Deponia. This trilogy of hand-drawn point-and-click adventure games follows the story of Rufus, an inhabitant of the garbage planet Deponia. He is considered a loser by everyone and his dream is to escape the planet and reach the Elysium, the home to a wealthy elite. But everything changes when Goal, an Elysian woman, gets trapped on the planet. This award-winning video game series features both complex puzzles and riddles along with a compelling, humorous storyline. Deponia The Complete Journey has a sequel too, Deponia Doomsday, which is the final episode in the series.

The second free game this week is Ken Follett's The Pillars of the Earth, a game directly based on the eponymous novel by Kent Follett. As in the bestseller, the game narrates the story of the construction of a cathedral in the village of Kingsbridge in the 12th century. The country is under great strain following a civil war and the assassination of Archbishop Thomas Becket. As the level of poverty grows, the people of Kingsbridge decide to build a cathedral in an attempt to gain the favor of God. You will follow Jack, an ambitious young stonemason, but also his friends Aliena, a young noblewoman, and Philip, the village prior. Ken Follett's The Pillars of the Earth is a narrative game with puzzles to solve. The development of the story is the key to the game, which features sublime 2D graphics.

Finally, the last game offered this week is The First Tree, an almost dreamlike exploration game. It takes you through beautiful scenery as a fox searching for his family, but its story is linked to that of a son who reconnects with his father after years. Their fates will become increasingly intertwined as the game progresses.

All three games are available now for free on the Epic Games Store. The offer ends next Thursday, April 22. The three games will then be replaced by Alien: Isolation and Hand of Fate 2.
