Fallout 4 is finally getting its anticipated next-gen update

Better late than never is something that could be applied to the games created by Bethesda in the last few years. The studio has been so busy with Starfield that the update announced for Fallout 4 so the game could take advantage of the enhanced features of next-gen consoles has taken years to arrive.

Fallout 4 is the latest instalment in the main series and takes you once more to a post-apocalyptic wasteland in the aftermath of a nuclear war that has ravaged the planet. You discover a brand new world as one of the vault-dwellers that has grown inside the security of a huge underground facility, isolated from the woes of the outside world for decades. Now, you have to face a perilous journey through a land full of mutants, monsters, and worse things.

Enhanced performance

The long wait is coming to an end and those playing the game on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series will finally be able to enjoy 60 fps gameplay as well as a new set of functionalities. These will include Performance mode and Quality mode settings that will arrive alongside stability improvements and other fixes in an upcoming update. There will be improvements to the versions for older consoles and PCs too. In the case of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions, a free update will bring stability improvements, login and quest fixes. The PC version of Fallout 4 will receive a patch that will add widescreen and ultra-widescreen support, as well as fixes to Creation Kit and a variety of quest updates. Also, Bethesda will launch Fallout 4 on Epic Games Store.

All these changes will arrive as part of free updates available on April 25.
