Final Fantasy XVI producer asks modders not to create 'offensive or inappropriate" content for the PC version

Final Fantasy XVI finally launches on PC on September 17, after being a PlayStation 5 exclusive for a year. And like with any other game, the modding community is excited to "tinker" with Final Fantasy XVI. However, the producer of Final Fantasy XVI, Naoki Yoshida, has a request for PC players.

When asked by PC Gamer about what kind of mods he would like to see in Final Fantasy XVI after its PC release, Yoshida replied, "If we said, 'it'd be great if someone made X, Y, Z,' it might come across as a request, so I'll avoid mentioning any specifics here!" Yoshida told PC Gamer. "The only thing I will say is that we definitely don't want to see anything offensive or inappropriate, so please don't make or install anything like that."

Mods can bring a lot of benefits to games, allowing players the freedom to create and add content they desire into the game. This often results in some incredible mods, such as the Archthrones mod for Dark Souls 3 and customizable playable characters in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

However, since this is the internet, it’s inevitable that "offensive or inappropriate" mods will appear for games. Previously, Capcom had some controversy with the gaming community when they announced that they wanted to limit offensive mod content in their games, such as Resident Evil and Street Fighter, which has been a common issue over the years.

Whether you like it or not, with Final Fantasy XVI coming to PC, many mods for the game are bound to emerge, some of which will surely be unique fan-made creations. Some people may be eager to see the mods that will be released for Final Fantasy XVI on PC.
