Epic Games has revealed the Fortnite 8.40 update today and I must say that it’s a huge one. These updates launch during server maintenance on Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Android devices. It will also be available on iOS devices at a later time, as confirmed by Epic Games recently. According to their statement,

“We are working with Apple on certification for our latest patch. There may be a delay before the update is available in the App Store once downtime is completed. We will update you as soon as possible.”

Fortnite 8.40 update features Air Royale limited time game mode. You can play it with a partner. Both of you will pilot the X-4 Stormwing. The plane will start with three lives and players will respawn without a limit as long as their plane has life remaining. If you park the plane on the ground for too long it will explode. If players touch the ground they will instantly die. You can gain life back if you hijack another players' jet. What makes it even more interesting and extra difficult is the storm forming above you, so you’ll have to be careful and keep an eye to both the altitude and the battle. Food Fight is also coming to Fortnite, dubbed as Deep Fried. This event features restaurant bases and teams will build up a fortress to protect their mascot. Lava will be rising from the ground though, and you must be cautious not to get caught in the heat and safeguard the mascot before trying to eliminate your rival’s mascot. The Egg Launcher is back too, and Infantry Launcher can be found in Epic and Legendary variants.

Check out their official site for the full patch. The update can take a longer time to roll out due to the downtime, so just be patient.
