Frostpunk is getting an expansion next month

11 Bit Studios has announced the release date of the biggest DLC released for their post-apocalyptic city-building survival game Frostpunk. Under the name of The Last Autumn, this will be the second paid DLC that the game gets and it will be very different from the previous one. When it was released a few months ago, The Rifts expanded the gameplay options of Frostpunk by adding a new constructible building and a unique Endless mode map, but the upcoming DLC will give players some insight about the events preceding the freezing of the world where Frostpunk takes place.

The Last Autumn is set during the construction of the energy generator that will fuels life in Frostpunk. The world is not frozen yet and you don't have to fight for survival but the impending disaster puts a lot of pressure on the workers. Building such a machine in a site that is far away from civilization will also come with risks and problems that you will have to solve, as you desperately try to finish the job in time to spark a sliver of hope in the hearts of the people.

This new DLC brings new technologies, a new environment, new Books of Laws, and also new buildings that will allow you to explore many different development paths as you try to build the generator. As it happens in Frostpunk base game, you will be facing tough dilemmas and unexpected events and your decisions will decide the outcome of the project, with the future of your people at stake as the British Empire crumbles.

The Last Autumn DLC for Frostpunk will be released on January 21 on PC. It will be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on a later date. You can buy it separately but it is also included in Frostpunk Season Pass along with The Rift and Project "TVADGYCGJR", which is a third DLC coming at some point in 2020 too.
