The acclaimed horror adventure created by Tango Gameworks is finally dropping its PlayStation exclusivity next month. You will be able to play Ghostwire: Tokyo on Xbox Series X/S from April 12th if you want to enjoy the game on your console. It's even better, the game will also be available via the Game Pass, but if you really like it, you should check out our comparator to find out the best deals on Ghostwire: Tokyo Xbox keys ahead of release.
The release of Ghostwire: Tokyo on Xbox Series X/S will be accompanied by a free update that will introduce new content across all platforms. Under the name Spider's Thread, this update will add an all-new game mode that pits you against 30 challenging levels chosen from a pool of 130 handcrafted stages full of enemies and obstacles. You can unlock several upgrades as you progress in this mode, but if you die, you will have to start all over from the beginning. However, you will keep some of the upgrades you unlock in your previous run to help you in your progression.
The update also brings into Ghostwire: Tokyo extended story cutscenes that will expand the lore of the game, as well as new skills and talismans for Akito's arsenal, widening the range of approaches that you can take to combat in the game. You will definitely need them, as new enemies will attack you as you navigate the dark alleys in the city.
As a bonus, the update also adds a Photo Mode that lets you immortalize your best poses in Ghostwire: Tokyo and edit them with overlays to create the perfect picture. Tango Gameworks still has some surprises prepared for us that will be revealed with the release of Spider's Thread next month. If the developer spills the beans ahead of it, we will let you know.
