Gloomhaven console versions coming next year

Gloomhaven console versions coming next year

The digital version of the critically-acclaimed fantasy board game Gloomhaven is coming to consoles in 2023. The announcement was made through a teaser trailer, shown here.

The console version will be a collaboration between the original publisher of the PC version, Asmosdee Digital, and Saber Interactive. Saber Interactive has previously ported games such as Halo 2 and 3 to the PC along with two Crysis titles.

According to Asmodee Digital CEO Pierre Ortolan:

"We're excited to bring Gloomhaven to new players around the world with Saber Interactive. Partnerships like this are one of the great advantages we have available to us now as part of Embracer Group, and we look forward to tapping into even more opportunities to deliver for our fans in the future."

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard mention of the Embracer Group. It has previously acquired Crystal Dynamics, Eidos-Montréal, Square Enix Montréal, and the rights to games such as Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Legacy of Kain, and more. It’s very clear they plan to make new games or even remakes with these IPs. Releasing Gloomhaven for consoles seems to be par for the course.

That said, we don’t have a specific date when the new console versions will launch, along with what consoles the game will be ported to.

Gloomhaven Digital is the video game adaptation of the fantasy dungeon-crawler board game. Each player has a character with an unusual class, background, and motivation, and they must work together to finish various quests. Combat is a turn-based affair where players select cards to use as actions. The digital version comes with 3D graphics, music, narration, and support for online players, allowing for campaigns that can last for more than 100 hours.

The Gloomhaven console version will release next year. If you haven’t tried it yet, you can pick up a Gloomhaven PC code from our comparator.
