If you have been following us, you already know that Gearbox is working on a brand new license that could give the Borderlands series a run for its money in terms of popularity. Godfall will take players to a new universe to save the kingdom of Aperion from being destroyed by the powerful god Macros. As one of the last remaining members of the Order of Valorian Knights, we will have to fight hordes of enemies making use of our abilities in epic combats. We already had a glimpse of what Godfall will offer a few weeks ago in a video that showed a bit of gameplay footage, but developer Counterplay Games has just released the cinematic intro of the game and it couldn't look any better.
In the video, you can see that you will get to fight against a variety of fiendish enemies and gigantic bosses making use of the different weapons and powers that you can wield as a knight. Depending on what type of Valorplate armor you are wearing and how you choose to customize it, in Godfall you will be able to use longswords, dual blades, polearms, or massive two-handed war hammers and greatswords to slay your enemies and there is even a retractable shield that you can use both for defense and offense. But the game is nothing like Dark Souls, and it's more of a looter-slasher in which you will find an endless stream of equipment that will help to define your gameplay style and to enhance your character.
Godfall also includes cooperative gameplay for up to three players in which others can jump in and join your game anytime if you allow so, multiplying your strategic possibilities in combat by combining different skills and builds.
Godfall is officially launching on November 12 for the PlayStation 5 & PC via Epic Games Store.
