Halo Infinite’s Season 2 changes the game

Halo Infinite’s Season 2 changes the game

Halo Infinite’s second season, Lone Wolves, has officially begun, and we have been treated to a flood of changes. There are a ton of improvements, new cosmetics, maps, and game modes, but balancing that off is a significant number of nerfs as well.

If you haven’t seen it yet, here’s the Season 2 trailer:

Season 2 has brought us everything the developers said: two new maps, Catalyst for Arena mode and Breaker for BTB. We also have the three new gameplay modes: King of the Hill, Land Grab, and Last Spartan Standing.

Improvements include giving the vehicles their due. The banshee, for example, was altered to give players complete control over its speed, making it easier to control. The cooldown for its weapons, the plasma gun and the bomb, have also been shortened. The chopper has similarly been improved in that you can ram its grill to destroy nearly any vehicle it comes in contact with.

The improvements even include gear. The overshield and the portable drop wall can now take more damage, with the wall having a reduced spawn time. The ravager weapon is even more powerful, able to kill enemies with two standard shots. Its alternate charge-up fire also deals double damage.

Despite these positive changes, there are also some nerfs. The mangler weapon now has less melee damage and 25% less storage for ammo.

Another nerf has to do with something players have dubbed “skill jumps”—that is, the ability to jump onto seemingly objects like “small props and thin ledges” and use them to reach areas that would otherwise take a longer time to run to. As of today, those spots have been either removed or have altered collision mechanics. Players who use these jumps to move around quickly through the map certainly won’t be happy.

You can check out the rest of the heft changes in the official patch notes. Meanwhile, Season 2 is out today. Halo Infinite multiplayer is free to play, but you can also grab a Halo Infinite campaign PC key from our comparator.
